Getting started with Dots

Dots lets you lease a memorable name below one of our parent domains, such as your-name.dots.to. This is a subdomain lease, not the purchase or registration of a registry domain. Dots continues to own and operate the parent domain.

1. Search

Enter one label and compare enabled endings. Labels use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens; they cannot begin or end with a hyphen. Reserved or protected names are unavailable. Premium names may cost more or require review.

2. Choose a term

The result shows the exact price, currency, term, renewal action, and whether review is required. Free monthly names require you to return and renew each month. Paid yearly and lifetime offers have the conditions shown at checkout.

3. Verify and explain the use

Create an account, verify your email, accept the current policies, and provide your intended use and destination. A checkout reservation is temporary until payment or approval completes.

4. Complete payment

For manual transfer, follow the instructions shown on your order and include its unique reference. You can submit your transfer note. A staff member reviews the transfer; submitting a note does not itself prove payment.

5. Set the record

After approval, choose either a public IPv4 address (A) or a hostname (CNAME). Dots publishes it as direct DNS. Provisioning can take a short time and your panel shows pending, active, or failed status without hiding failures.

Next: DNS records and proxy status.
